Les Arcs- The skiers paradise which gave birth to snowboarding
The views all around the resort are awesome and Mont Blanc provides the back drop from many locations. We are often noticing something jaw-dropping that we’ve never seen before.
We chose Les Arcs because of its massive, snow-sure ski area. We never tire of it, and while the new link to La Plagne creates the largest ski area in the Alps (420 km of pistes), we rarely venture out of Les Arcs which provides more than enough variation, and is blessed with fabulous world-class pistes and facilities.
But you have to take at least one trip in the Vanoise Express, the largest cable-car in the world. A marvel of modern technology, it whisks over two hundred people, on a huge double-decker cable car across a deep 1800 metre valley in just 4 minutes! It’s just like being in a helicopter without the engine noise.

Lots for the kids to do
Kids are well provided for and there are many specialist facilities. Recent additions to the resort include Apocalypse Snowpark - a wonderful collection of simple to challenging jumps for skiers and boarders; floodlit night skiing twice a week; natural ice rink; upgraded high-speed lifts around the resort; automated lift pass entry to reduce queuing; new mogul runs bowling alley and more....
